About the Man
Well, this is the part of the site where I can talk directly to you, the reader\audience. It's been a long road. I started this site a little over three years ago and a lot has changed. I figured I add this section to the site to talk on a more personal level to describe to you just what kind of man I am today as opposed to when I started this whole writing thing.
When I initially started writing poetry...and I can't lie, it wasn't because I had a deep yearning to change the world or to let out some emotional pain...I did it for a girl. Yep. My first poem was for a girl! I wanted to believe that I always had a deep desire to write poetry but after growing up a little and looking back; it was chance. I had no idea that I'd start writing poetry because I had no idea I'd end up working in fast food my entire high school career! LOL! I say this now because I thank God I did work in fast food and meet that girl because I wouldn't be the man I am today without it.
I started off thinking I wouldn't be able to write ten poems. I just wrote my 101st poem the other day; and I now for some of you that may not be a lot but for someone like me, that's more than I'd ever hope to write. Poetry gave me an outlet. It gave me the ability to see and understand things that I couldn't before. Once I started writing, I saw everything as a potential story. Something I could use to either help myself deal with a certain situation or someone else. I also experimented with writing poems for pure entertainment. I wrote a couple of "sex" poems so to speak. Now...before you get ahead of me, they weren't graphic or demeaning to women. Because I wasn't able to simply put a bunch of words together that got people all hot and bothered, I turned a sex poem into a story. Whether it was a sex poem about a cheating husband or an adult male in jail daydreaming about his lover...who turns out to be a teenager or an man telling his friend about the woman of his dreams...as they watch her marry another man. Writing just became my passion.
Then one day my writing led me to The University of the Arts. A chance encounter with a professor who became aware of my poetry, got me into the Writing for Film and Television department of UArts; which leads me to where I am today. Writing scenes for film ideas I have in my head and making short films have been nothing short of awesome! Some of the best moments of my life have happened at this school. I've achieved more than I ever thought I could. I've met people that I'll take with me where ever I go. I've had moments that can only be described as "Unforgettable". My life has been an extremely exciting, difficult, sad, thought-provoking, loving, incredible, unbelievable experience...and I would have it any other way. Every single moment, person, pain, struggle and love has helped me understand that I'm actually an ok person. LOL! Thank you to everyone I know. I'm not going to waste your time writing down every single name. I'm not famous or anything it's just...well I'm lazy! You know how you are and how much you mean to me and if you don't you mean this much...........................................................................and trust me, that's a lot. Thank you for supporting me and stay tuned because there's more to come.
